Create Stories

Stories have 3 main components that need to be defined: Story DataVideo (or Static Image) and Widgets. According to the format, each story's component would adapt to it.

Below is the basic step by step process of how to create a story.

After setting up a campaign's sequence and selecting the format, you can begin the process of setting up your stories. Regardless of the format selected, you will create at least one story for each stage of the sequence. In a sequence with 4 different stages (Not Aware, Aware, Engaged, Conversion) you will create a minimum of 4 stories. Each story would include assets reflecting the sequence stage.

To Begin, click on the format you want to work with and then go on "New Story".

  • Story Data

Story Data defines the main settings of the story you are creating.

  1. Assign a name to your new story in a "Brand_Status_Widget" form to facilitate easier tracking.
    • Example:  BMW_Engagement_Interactive Cards
  2. If needed, select a background image URL (you can choose from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones). Background Images are displayed in the ad's background.
    • The size of the background image URL will depend on the format you chose.
  3. Choose Workflow status: "Draft" will save your story without publishing it, "Published" will mean the story is ready to be trafficked.
  4. Status allows you associate the story to a specific stage of the sequence applied to the campaign. If you are lost and don't know what we are talking about, see the Journey Designer section.
  5. Storyboard allows to assign a sequence on your widgets based on user interaction within a single story. If this is your first story, then you have not defined widgets yet. You can always add the storyboard later on the Story Editor. To learn more about Storyboard, visit the Storyboard section.
  6. The Game option allows to setup a gamification to a story. This allows users to interact with a story and its widgets and collect points, rewards and other fun things that increase your story's engagement.

  • Video/Static Image

The video or static image you choose will become the main asset of your story. This could be a traditional video or an animated background to use as a base.

  1. You can select a Thumbnail that will appear when your video is paused. If none is selected a thumbnail will generate automatically.
  2. Under Playback Type select "VOD" if you want your video to start with a one-click or "Live" if you want the video to start automatically.
  3. Select a title for your video.
  4. Select a Video (you can choose from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones).
  5. Hit Save to save the story you just created.

  • Widgets

After defining Story Data and Video, you can further customize your story in the Story Editor, where you can add a variety of widgets offered by C-S to your story to make it more dynamic and personalized.

For a list of widgets available and how to set them up visit the Widgets Section.

NEXT STEP: Add Widgets.
