Create Stories

Once you created your format inside a campaign and set up your sequence, you can start build your interactive stories which are the ones that user will effectively see once the campaign will go live. Regardless of the format selected, you will create at least one story for each stage of the sequence (i.e. in a sequence with four different stages - Not Aware, Aware, Engaged, Converted - you will create a minimum of four stories).

To begin, click on the format you want to work with and then click on "New Story" button and then you will have to define your story according to C-S three main components

  1. Story Data;
  2. Video (or Static Image);
  3. Widgets.

1. Story Data

Once you have clicked on "New Story" button, it will open Story Data page where you can define the main settings of the story you are creating.

Below are explained in few steps all this section's setting:

  1. Assign a name to your new story. We suggest you to give a name in order to facilitate easier tracking;
  2. If needed, select a background image URL  from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones. Background Images will be displayed in the ad's background and the size of the background image will depend on the format you chose;
  3. Choose Workflow status: "Draft" will save your story without publishing it while "Published" means that the story is ready to be trafficked;
  4. Status allows you to associate the story to a specific stage of the sequence applied to the campaign. If you are lost and don't know what we are talking about, see the Journey Designer section;
  5. Storyboard allows you to assign a sequence to all your widgets based on user interaction within a single story. It may be your first story and you have not defined widgets yet but no worries, you can always add the storyboard later. To learn more about Storyboard, visit the Storyboard section;
  6. The Game option allows you to setup a gamification to a story. Thanks to this, users will be able to interact with a story and its widgets to collect points, rewards and other fun things that increase your story's engagement

2. Video/Static Image

The video or static image you choose will become the main asset of your story. This could be a traditional video or an animated background to use as a base.

  1. You can select a Thumbnail that will appear when your video is paused. If none is selected a thumbnail will generate automatically.
  2. Under Playback Type select "VOD" if you want your video to start with a one-click or "Live" if you want the video to start automatically.
  3. Select a title for your video.
  4. Select a Video (you can choose from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones).
  5. Hit Save to save the story you just created.

3. Widgets

After defining Story Data and added video or static image, you can further customize your story in the story editor among a variety of widgets offered by C-S to make your story more dynamic and personalized.
