Create Stories

After setting up both campaign and format, you can begin the process of setting up a story,

A format can have as many stories as associated with it as you want. Stories are the actual dynamic ads and are 100% customizable. Stories are what the end-users will be shown.

A) Select the format you want to add a new story to.

Stories have 3 main components that need to be defined: Story DataVideo, and Widgets.

  • Story Data

Story Data define the main settings of the story you are creating.

    A) Name your new story.

    B) Select a background image URL (you can choose from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones). Background Images are displayed in the ad's background.

    C) Choose Workflow status. "Draft" will save your story without publishing it, "Published" will make the story go live right after saving it.

    D) Context allows you to select which context of the rules engine of the campaign will trigger the story you are creating. To be defined if you're personalizing the consumer journey.

    E) Through Rules Engine drop down list instead, you can select the rules engine at story level. This will enable to personalize the single events within the story.

    F) Through Game option, you can define a gaming option for your story by selecting one of the many available.

  • Video

The video you choose will become the main asset of your story. This could be a traditional video or an animated background to use a base for animated copy and overlay.

    A) You can select a Thumbnail that will appear when your video is paused. If none is selected a thumbnail will generate automatically.

    B) Under Playback Type select "VOD" if you want your video to start with a one-click or "Live" if you want the video to start automatically.

    C) Select a title for your video.D) Select a Video (you can choose from the assets you have already uploaded or upload new ones).

    E) Hit Save to save the story you just created.

  • Widgets

After defining Story Data and Video, you can further customize your story by editing the widgets that will be available in that story

    A) Click on the tab Edit Widget to access a list of the seven types of widgets from which you can choose:

    • Quiz
    • Prediction
    • Minisite
    • Poll
    • Maps
    • Voting
    • Lottery
    • User Photo

  • For a detailed overview of each Widgets visit the widget section.

After creating your story and setting up the widgets, you can synch them to events and view them in preview mode.

B) To add an event to your story hit the button New Event.

C) Name the event and define when you want that to be triggered (do not forget that you if you want to end an event you will need to create an event that will hide the previously associated widget).

E) Add a description of your widget so that you don't forget what that is and if you want add a tag too.

F) Define which widget type you want to use. You can add standard Widgets (Quiz, Polls..) or a customizable Instant Apps.

G) By selecting Show or Hide under mode you will define the status of widget for that event. If you want to close an event you will select Hide.

H) Select Widget Id. Here you can choose between an overlay widget (a widget that will be on top of your video) or one that will be place in an untapped area of your layout. Mind that there cannot be multiple widgets in the same area at the same time. If a new Widget is a placed in the same area at a specific timestamp it will replace the previous one based on the selected timing.

i) Then you can either browse widget that you have already created or create new ones from scratch by selecting add widget.

J) Hit save and go back. You will see your newly created event with its widget in the bar on the right end.
