Video formats consist of all those hosted formats within a player on the publisher's pages.
Video formats can occupy in-stream or out stream placements.

They are managed in full redirect via a VPAID tag available in version 2.0 and 3.0; with the adoption of the VAST 4.0, that type of trafficking will also be available.

All video formats are available in both programmatic and reservation and support interactive, dynamic elements creatives, and 3rd-party tracking.

Video formats fall into two categories:

  • Horizontal Videos

  • Vertical Videos

  • Split-Screen Videos

  • Smart-L Videos

  • Static Videos

  • Dynamic Frame Videos

Horizontal Videos

The horizontal video format is the most frequently adopted type across both mobile and desktop. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.

Vertical Videos

Vertical videos are predominantly a mobile format for both in-stream or out-stream placements.

Split-Screen Videos

Connected-Stories offers two different types of split-screen videos: Horizontal and Vertical. Horizontal Splits have a widget area below or above the video. Vertical Splits have a widget area to the left or to the right of the video. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.

Smart-L Videos

Connected-Stories’ Smart-L videos are dynamic formats available both for mobile and desktop. The video starts as a classic horizontal video but when a user hovers its cursor over the video an L-shaped frame appears on the right side and the video moves on the top left corner.

Static Videos

Connected-Stories’ Static Videos support advertisers that do not have video assets but want interactive features within their video placements. A static image, or a series of images, can be assembled to appear like a video. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.

Dynamic Frame Videos

Dynamic Frame Videos starts with the video content occupying the entirety of the ad placement. When the user hovers the cursor on top of the vide, the content zooms out and gets surrounded by a frame. Interactive widgets can be placed in every part of the frame and as well as on overlay on the vide. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.
