Video Ad Formats

Video ad formats are all those ones hosted within a player on the selected publisher's pages.

They can occupy in-stream or out-stream placements.

Video Formats are managed in full redirect via a VPAID tag available in version 2.0 and 3.0; with the adoption of the VAST 4.0, that type of trafficking will also be available.

All video formats are available both in programmatic and reservation and support interactive, dynamic elements, creatives and 3rd-party tracking.

PERSPECTIVE FRAME VIDEOS

Open Frame video template is the most frequently adopted type across both mobile and desktop. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.

Audio specs accepted by Connected-Stories:

  • Autoplay: Audio OFF

  • Click to Play: Audio On or Off will depend on publisher/network and the browser where the video ad is running

Trafficking Connected-Stories ad tags:

  • Full Redirect: Connected-Stories Horizontal Videos can be exported as VPAID tags or MRAID tags (in-app)

 

SMART-L VIDEOS

Smart-L-Right videos are dynamic formats available both for mobile and desktop. The video starts as a classic horizontal video but when a user hovers its cursor over the video or at a specific timecode, an L-shaped frame appears on the right side and the video moves on the top right corner.

The L-shaped area is divided into two sections, a vertical one and a horizontal one.

Vertical Part of the L:

  • Dimensions: 192x360

  • Widgets Available: Interactive Gallery, Add to Calendar, Force Touch, Scratch and Reveal, Quiz/Poll, Interactive Cards, CTAs.

Horizontal Part of the L:

  • Dimensions: 448x108

  • Widgets Available: Interactive Gallery, Add to Calendar, Force Touch, Scratch and Reveal, Quiz/Poll, Interactive Cards, CTAs.

 

DYNAMIC FRAME VIDEOS

Dynamic Frame videos starts with the video content occupying the entirety of the ad placement. When the user hovers the cursor on top of the video or at a specific timecode, the content zooms out and gets surrounded by a frame. Interactive widgets can be placed in every part of the frame and as well as on overlay on the vide.

The Dynamic Frame area is divided into 4 sections: left, right, top, bottom. Below are the specs:

Top/Bottom Part of the Frame:

  • Dimensions: 750w x 72h (HiDPI 1500w x 144h)

  • Widgets Available: Interactive Gallery, Add to Calendar, Force Touch, Scratch and Reveal, Quiz/Poll, Interactive Cards, CTAs.

Left/Right Part of the Frame

  • Dimensions: 125w x 563h (HiDPI 250w x 1126h)

  • Widgets Available: Interactive Gallery, Add to Calendar, Force Touch, Scratch and Reveal, Quiz/Poll, Interactive Cards, CTAs.


SPLIT SCREEN VIDEOS

Vertical Splits have a widget area to the left or to the right of the video. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.

PANORAMA RIGHT VIDEOS

Panorama videos allow for a high degree of user engagement as a widget area is well defined wrapping up the video itself without overlaying on top of it. Thus, users can enjoy the content they are watching while interacting with any sort of widget on the right-end side.

Dome videos aim to engage and provide valuable information about the brand throughout the entire duration of the video. With a widget area surrounding the video allowing to add extra info related to the advertiser’s video content, this format increase engagement KPIs both across desktop and mobile environments.

Overlay Videos support advertisers that do not have video assets but want interactive features within their video placements. A static image, or a series of images, can be assembled to appear like a video. This format can be inserted in both in-stream and out-stream placements.
